The federal government utilizes numerous programs designed to protect wetlands that include the Swampbuster program, the Wetlands Reserve Program, Partners in Wildlife program, Coastal Wetlands Restoration Program, Five Start Restoration Program, National Estuary Program, and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. I am working with the federal agencies to ensure that wetland programs efficiently prioritize scarce federal funds and consistently implement environmental protection.
